JAY BROCK

BIOGRAPHY

Mr. Jay Brock is the Executive Vice President of Southern Affordable Services, Inc. (SAS), which is an organization whose primary purpose is to provide affordable housing for individuals and families of limited means. In this role, Mr. Brock manages workforce housing developments utilizing several sources of governmental financing including tax-exempt bond financing, SAIL funding, and Section 42 tax credits.
 
Prior to joining SAS, Mr. Brock spent over 20 years in a similar capacity with the CED Companies and Atlantic Housing Partners, L.L.L.P (AHP). His primary responsibility was submitting financing applications for various state and local governmental agencies including Section 42 tax credits, tax-exempt bond and state apartment incentive loan funds. His efforts resulted in awards of funding in excess of $1B of Section 42 housing tax credits, $750M in Section 42 tax-exempt financing, $110M in SAIL funds and $3.5M in HOME funds. Mr. Brock has also served as an officer on behalf of over 150 general partners of the limited partnership entities which own affordable housing communities for both the CED Companies and AHP.
 
Prior to working for the CED Companies and AHP, Mr. Brock was employed as a C.P.A. with KPMG and as an associate attorney with Broad and Cassel in the Affordable Housing and Corporate Department.
 
Mr. Brock is a graduate of the University of Arizona with a double major in Accounting and Finance and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Arizona, College of Law. Mr. Brock received his C.P.A. certificate (Missouri) and is a member of the Florida Bar.
